Easter Weekend

I had a great Easter weekend, filled with family and fun. It started on Friday with a full day in the kitchen at my Mom's baking with my sister. (more on the baking later) While we were in the kitchen the four kids played outside, participating in an array of activities from biking to playing in the muddy stream. My youngest son ended up soaked from head to toe!
On Saturday I took my sister (for her Birthday) to the Shaw Festival Theater in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We saw Brief Encounters by Noel Coward. It consists of three one act plays, Still Life, We Were Dancing and Hands Across the Sea. After the performance had finished we walked around town and went into some of the shops to look at the great things. I also took a couple of shots of my sister around town. (She needs a picture for facebook.)
On Easter Sunday we went over to my Mom and Dad's house for Dinner and the 4th annual Easter egg hunt. The four kids loved to run around the yard looking for eggs.

Back to the baking; on Friday we spent the day in the kitchen "baking" or should I say burning!
Our main objective was to bake Paska (a sweet bread) for Sundays Dinner. If you have never made bread from scratch, it takes forever. The yeast needs so much time. We made buns and filled the oven with the trays. With in minutes we smelled burning. We all thought that it was spill over in the bottom of the oven. When we went to check the buns black smoke poured out of the oven. It seems the bottom pan of buns was the smell. We did not loose the other pans it was only that one. We kept on telling our mom that it was her oven and not our fault she said the opposite.
Easter day on the menu ham baking in the same oven. Time to pull the ham out of the oven; it is black! Mom I think it is your oven!!! The ham was delicious once the top basting layer was taken off.
Hope everyone had a fun and eventful Easter weekend!

Happy Valentines Day

I love Valentine's Day! The best was in elementary school. First we would decorate paper bags with red hearts and white paper doilies (remember those?) to hold all are cards we would get from the other kids in the class. And then the sugary party would follow. Yumm

I hope that everyone has a great sugary and love filled day.

For any couples that got engaged on this day of love, drop me a line so we can discuss your wedding day photography.

Sara & Matt's Wedding

What a great day it turned out to be for Sara & Matt's wedding. The forecast all week was rain, rain & rain. What do weather men know any way! The sun shone down on their beautiful outdoor wedding at Hernders Estate Winery.

We had a great time walking around the farm capturing wedding moments; from vineyards to wine barrels.

Thank you for allowing me to share and document your love for each other on your special day.

Have fun in Jamaica.

I love both expressions on the following two photographs.

Melissa & Jayme

Their Wedding was taking place in a pear orchard and the reception in a tent in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The skies to the North & West were dark blue to black in colour with lighten flashing through. Driving to the location I was sure that the skies would rain down. The storm stayed away from their celebration & made for a beautiful background for photographs.
Thank you Melissa & Jayme for choosing me to document your wedding & being such troopers standing out in a field while lighten flashed in the distance.

George was a special guest at the wedding.

We took time out to try the hors d'oeuvres.

The fabulous food was catered by Eric Peacock and his crew from Wellington Court Restaurant.

Congratulations.

We're Married!

Sue & Nick told their families that they were going for a little get away. Well little did their families know they would come home as Husband & Wife. They had arranged months earlier every detail. The location at the Riverbend Inn & Vineyard, and the minister Sheldon Kofsky.
I am honored that you chose me to capture your days memories to show your family and friends. I hope you enjoy your stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake and wish you only the best in your married life together.

Congratulations
Vicki

Ally & Nathan

I had a great time this past Saturday photographing the celebration of marriage between Ally & Nathan. It was a hot day, but you, your family and friends made the heat bearable.
Thank you for choosing me to capture your day and your love for each other.

The wedding party found this toad hoping across the lawn and Ally was a good sport to have her picture taken with her "frog prince".

And after the Kiss...... her prince.

Thank you for choosing me to capture your day and your love for each other.
Congratulations and enjoy your honeymoon!
